News Flash • Drive-Through Recycling Event Set for Brazos Ri


Sugar Land, TX – The city of Sugar Land’s Recycle Round Up is scheduled for Oct. 19, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Brazos River Park, 18427 Southwest Freeway. 

The drive-through recycling event allows Sugar Land residents to dispose of a variety of recycling materials without leaving their vehicles. Just enter the western most parking lot and follow the signs.   

The event is restricted to Sugar Land residents, so an identification card and a copy of a city utility bill will be required to participate. 

City staff will be on site to unload cars of household hazardous waste, electronic waste, textiles and paper documents that need to be shredded.  

Items that will be accepted include aerosols; anti-freeze (5 gallon limit); batteries (all types); electronics (cell phones, TV’s, computers, DVD players, etc.); cooking oils and cleaners; small household appliances (like microwaves, toasters, etc.)(Limit 2); mercury containing devices; metal scraps up to 50 pounds; motor oils, lubricants and fluids (10 Gallon limit); paints and related materials (10 can limit); toner ink cartridges; and wires/cables.

Clothing, shoes, hats, belts and purses will also be accepted, but mattresses, furniture and trash/waste will not.

Other items that will not be accepted include pool chemicals, pesticides, propane cylinders, tires, bio-hazardous material, PCB containing materials, asbestos/cyanide, explosives, pharmaceuticals, unidentified chemicals, large cylinders, corrosive/oxidizing liquids and large appliances (like washers/dryer, refrigerator, etc.).
